Marble ... Onyx ... Granite ... Each of these textures brings to mind a different style of sculpture in stone. From the breathtaking marble sculptures of Michelangelo to the tiny jade miniatures of China, gifted artists have found expression in dimensions, in styles, in textures that reach to the ends of the earth. Svilen Petrov is no exception. Mr. Petrov's sculptures in stone range from desk top stone sculpture like “The Mask” to commanding lobby pieces like “Wind Tower", with many variations in between. Each captures the essence of what is there, and projects it for all to see. In blending different stone qualities, as in "Waterfall”, Mr. Petrov captures the force of each of the stones, using each to create a whole that is more than its parts.
